On June 12- 20, 2013 Cotabato City will once again celebrate what is said to be the biggest of all festivals in the city - the 54th Araw ng Cotabato.
A celebration of Cotabato City's Founding Anniversary, the Araw ng Cotabato 2013 will be highlighted by traditional games and sports activities open to the public such as palo sebo, kadang-kadang, layang-layang and many others.
There will be also a trade exposition that will showcase Cotabato City's agricultural and marine products. To showcase Cotabato City's tasty crabs, a cooking competition and crab race will be also held.
Meanwhile, the search for the city's fairest maiden - the 2013 Mutya ng Cotabato City pageant will take place on June 18.
Other events during the Araw ng Cotabato 2013 celebration includes Kasalang Bayan, the civic-military parade, trade fair, and many more.
Cotabato City became a chartered city on June 20, 1959 by the virtue of Republic Act No. 2364. The city is composed of 37 barangays and has a total land area of 17, 599 hectares.
