Every month of September the City of Tacurong dubbed as the "City of Goodwill" celebrates the Talakudong Festival. A celebration of the city's unique culture and of it's foundation anniversary.
The festival got its name from a Maguindanaoan word "talakudong" which refers to "anything that is used to cover the head". The main highlight of the week-long celebration is the Talakudong Streetdancing competition wherein every competing groups showcases the use of colorful and decorated "salakot" (a type of head covering) as their main props in their performances.
This year, Talakudong Festival is now on its 13th year. Other events to look forward to this Talakudong Festival 2013 are the 1st Talakudong Half-Marathon Run, Search for Mutya ng Lungsod ng Tacurong 2013, and many more.
