The Archbishop of Cotabato, Orlando B. Quevedo, is among 19 men that will be elevated to cardinals next month, this is according to a statement released by Vatican January 12, 2014.
The following is the list of 19 churchmen that Pope Francis will install as new cardinals in a Vatican ceremony on Feb. 22:
Born in Laoag, Ilocos Norte, Quevedo was ordained as a priest in 1964 and became bishop in 1980. On May 30, 1998, he was appointed Archbishop of Cotabato. The new cardinal of the Catholic Church is now 74 years old.
