The much-coveted Bb. Pilipinas - Universe 2014 crown was won by a Cotabateña. Yes, that is right!
Bb. Pilipinas 2014 candidate #25 Mary Jean Lastimosa from the town of Tulunan in North Cotabato bested 39 other candidates of the Bb. Pilipinas 2014 pageant held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Sunday night March 30, 2014.
Mary Jean Lastimosa, 26 years old was also awarded Best in Swimsuit in the early part of the competition and impressed the panel of judges including the crowd in the question and answer portion. She was questioned by Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler.
The question goes, "For you, what is the greatest advantage of being a woman?"
The third-time joiner in the Bb. Pilipinas pageant answered intelligently and was qouted as saying that "It is being able to compose ourselves, just like here, we're standing in front of thousands of people not knowing if they will cheer for us... we compose ourselves and show the beauty within us"Lastimosa said.
Mary Jean Lastimosa will represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe 2014 beauty pageant.
