The Department of Tourism- Region 12 (DOT-12) has once again partnered with SouthCotabato.Org in hosting another online photography contest, this time in lined with this year's celebration of Sarangani Bay Festival or SarBay Fest 2014 in Glan, Sarangani Province.

Joining the SarBay Fest 2014 Online Photography Contest is easy. Just capture the fun of SarBay Fest 2014 or any of the many tourist attractions found in the Province of Sarangani to win big prizes. Check out the following contest mechanics and register using the form found below.

The entries in both categories shall be judged based on the following criteria:

- This contest is open to the public (residents and non-residents of Sarangani Province)
- Amateur and professional photographers may join.
- Joining the contest is FREE (no fees will be collected) BUT interested participants MUST REGISTER ONLINE (registration form can be found below)
- ONLY registered participants will be eligible to join the contest.
CATEGORIES
The SarBay Fest 2914 Online Photography Contest has two categories:
- Only in Sarangani Category - Photo entries in this category must capture the different natural or man-made tourist attractions in SARANGANI PROVINCE. From white sand beaches, towering waterfalls, landmarks, and other destinations.
- SarBay Fun Category - The photo should capture actual experiences from any of the activities of SARBAY FEST 2014. Tourist should be permanent element in the picture portraying the experience of fun and delight.
- Interested individuals are required to REGISTER ONLINE to join the contest.
- ONLY entries of registered participants will be considered as official entries.
- A participant may submit 3 (minimum) to 5 (maximum) photos as entries in this category.
- Entries to be submitted should be in FULL COLOR. Photos in Black and White or in Sepia are not allowed.
- Entries to the ONLY IN SARANGANI CATEGORY must have been taken not earlier than March 1, 2014.
- Nudity, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, gruesome, and violent photos are automatically disqualified.
- Only basic enhancements like cropping, resizing, and minor adjustments in brightness and contrast will be allowed.
- Photos should not include watermarks, frames, or other markings on the photo, such as the date and time of the entry.
- Each photo to be submitted MUST HAVE a corresponding “PHOTO TITLE” and “PHOTO CAPTION”. The caption should indicate where the photo was taken and must describe what the photo is all about.
- All entries must be the original work and owned by the participant and must not have been used or published in any media or posted online for whatever purpose.
- Submission should be at the highest possible resolution and quality or atleast 1,600 pixels at one side. Acceptable formats will be jpg or png files.
- All entries must be submitted through email -- nanardxz@gmail.com not later than 12 MN of May 24, 2014.
- The organizer reserves the right to cancel the contest in the event that an insufficient number of entries of suitable quality are submitted.
- All submitted entries, winning or non-winning, shall become property of Department of Tourism XII and maybe published or used for promotional purposes by the organizer and DOT-12 with due acknowledgement of the original owner.
The entries in both categories shall be judged based on the following criteria:
- Adherence to theme/content
- Creativity and Originality
- Photographic Quality
- Visual Impact
The decision of the board of judges is final and not appealable.

First Prize - P5,000.00 and certificate
Second Prize - P3,000.00 and certificate
Third Prize - P2,000.00 and certificate
Consolation prizes - Two (2) winners of P1,000.00 each
Special Prize
Most Popular Photo - P3,000.00 and certificate
From all the qualified entries, we will choose one (1) winner of the special prize which will be chosen based on the number of votes/likes at the 12th Paradise Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/12thParadise ).
