See you in Tacurong City today until tomorrow for their first-ever Bird Festival.
The opening program will be held at Notre Dame of Tacurong College and includes activities like photo exhibit and a forum with topics on Phillipine Birds to be presented by the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines, the Baras Bird Sanctuary to be presented by Mr. Rey Oliver Malana, Eco-Tourism in the Philippines by Department of Tourism 12, Biodiversity Conservation to be discussed by DENR-12 and an orientation on rules at Baras Bird Sanctuary.
Other activities that includes face painting, keyholder painting, origami making, coloring and bird watching will be held at Baras Bird Sanctuary. There is also a photo blog contest to be participated by blogging and photography enthusiasts from all over SOCCSKSARGEN.
The Baras Bird Sanctuary is a 1.3 hectares of land located in Barangay Baras, some 7 kilometers away from the city proper which has become home to more than 20,000 migratory birds, mostly herons. The sanctuary can be easily reached by any form of land transportation.
