PEERs are Human Resource or Accounting Staff assigned and authorized by their respective employers to serve as an official point persons relative to PhilHealth transactions.
While PhilHealth has PhilHealth Account Information Management Specialists (P-AIMS) handling employer accounts to ensure the timely remittance of premium and submission of reports and takes charge of posting them in the database; employers have PhilHealth Employer Engagement Representative (PEER) responsible of deducting PhilHealth premiums, remitting PhilHealth contribution and submitting reports on time through electronic services provided by the Corporation.
PhilHealth has provided electronic windows for effective and efficient payment premium mechanism through accreditation of banks and non-banks institutions using e-pay facilities and has installed Electronic Premium Reporting System (EPRS) on-site and off-site for easy posting of monthly remittance reports.
It has also an Institutional Health Care Portal (IHCP) to all Accredited Health Care Providers where the hospitals and non-hospital facilities are given access to PhilHealth membership and contribution database.
This means that PhilHealth members can avail of their benefits even on weekends without securing their Member Data Record or proof of remittance from their employers provided PEERS have remitted their premium and submit report on time through the EPRS facility.
The fora also provided PEERS updates on the National Health Insurance Program’s new case rate packages including Z benefits for them to understand the rationale of premium increase effective January 2014 not just for the formal economy but across all sectors.
PEERs issues concerning PhilHealth processes such as membership, contribution and benefits were addressed by PRO XII panellists led by the Regional Vice President Dr. Miriam Grace Pamonag, the OIC of the Field Operations Division Lorelie G. Bonilla, Local Health Insurance Chiefs; Nol S. Valila of Gensan, Ivy E. Monderin of Kidapawan, Sharihana G. Sali of Cotabato, Lea A. Espejo of Isulan and Nonito B. Bayaras of Koronadal.
PHilHealth XII also recognized and commended top remitting and reporting employers and those who have observed the prescribed schedule in terms of premium remittance and submission of reports.
OIC-FOD Chief, Lorelie G. Bonilla stressed that the transformation of manual to automatic information systems of the Corporation is gearing towards an updated and reliable database for all its members regardless of their membership categories and its partners-stakeholders.

She hopes that this activity will be sustained and will create better relationship with employers as PhilHealth’s partners in attaining Universal Health Care or Kalusugan Pangkalahatan.
