In the recently held 29th Aliw Awards held at Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City, Demie Fresco who hails from Tacurong City won the Best New Female Artist Award besting six (6) other promising new artists in the country today including former PBB housemate Ylona Gracia. Other nominees for the award were Jayda Avanzado, Stephanie Lhui, Sophia Zanne Ocampo, Aine Abella and Garie Concepcion.
I have witnessed one of Demie Fresco's performances sometime last year and indeed she's very talented and her voice is very powerful and captivating.
She has joined some of the biggest musical talent competitions in the country including ABS-CBN’s The Voice of the Philippines in 2014 where she became part of Team Sarah Geronimo, and just recently, in Tawag ng Tanghalan of It's Showtime where she won for four consecutive days.
The 19-year old Demie Fresco finished her high school at St. John Learning Center, Inc in Tacurong City as class validectorian. She took workshop in singing in ABS-CBN during her early stage, and is currently one of the scholars of Susan M. Pichay Music School.
She has also performed in ASAP.
In February 2016, Demie Fresco was the recipient of the Most Outstanding Student award of the Conservatory of Music.
Another talent from SOX making us proud. Congratulations!
