Here's a good news to people of South Central Mindanao - Cotabato City and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).
Cebu Pacific, one of the country's leading airline through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Cebgo, now has a direct flight to Cebu from Cotabato Airport in Awang, D.O.S, Maguindanao and vice versa.
That's right! No need to travel to nearby General Santos City or Davao City when travelling to Cebu. The inaugural flights happened yesterday, May 16, 2017.
"This additional flight in Maguindanao-ARMM will surely boost the tourism industry and open greater opportunities for our stakeholders in the area", said DOT-ARMM Regional Secretary

With the direct flight, it will be now more convenient for traveller's from Cebu and the Visayas to visit some of the emerging tourist destinations in the area including the Grand Mosque in Cotabato City; the Blue Lagoon, Masjid Abpi and Mt. Minandar in Datu Odin Sinsuat town; the Pink Mosque in Datu Saudi; or attend the Inaul Festival of the Province of Maguindanao celebrated every month of February.
Cebu Pacific's Cebu-Cotabato service is scheduled to operate 4x a week. The flight from Cebu will depart at 10:05 AM and will arrive at the Awang Airport at 11:25 AM every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
From Cotabato City, Cebgo's 72-seater aircraft will depart at 11:45 AM every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
