Mabal Blaan: Weaving the Threads of Heritage, the first traditional textiles exhibition in the region will be opening at The Event Center of SM City General Santos from October 13-16, 2014. The exhibition will feature the Blaan Tabih, the traditional hand-woven cloth made from abaca of the Blaan tribe. See the poster below.
Get to know more about the Blaan Tabih, it's weaving process, how long it is being made and see it's unique differences with other traditional textiles including the Tnalak of the Tboli tribe, Inabal of the Bagobo, etc. at the exhibition. Plus, have the chance to meet and know more about the life and works of Blaan master weavers, Fu Yabing, who is from Polomolok, South Cotabato and Fu Gusiye of Sarangani.
Mabal Blaan: Weaving the Threads of Heritage is presented by the Lamlifew Village Museum, Department of Tourism -Region 12 and the Provincial Government of Sarangani.
