Bounty and abundant harvest call for a celebration.
With the theme, "Lutayan: Gearing up towards globalization", the Municipality of Lutayan in the Province of Sultan Kudarat kicked off on Thursday, October 8 the week-long Kanduli Festival, alongside the celebration of the town's 48th founding anniversary.
This year's celebration started with a civic parade, the opening program and Drum & Lyre Competition at the Municipal Hall Grounds and the first game of basketball championship at the Municipal Gymnasium.
Different sectors also participated in the tree growing festival on Friday, October 9 held from the town's welcome landmark to Lake Lutayan followed by the Farmer's Forum held at the Municipal Gymnasium.
This Saturday, October 10, activities includes Zumba Fever 2015 which will start at 4 AM at the Municipal Hall Grounds; Fun Run dubbed as "Takbo Para sa Lawa" at 5 AM; Women's Day "Babae Sikat Ka.." featuring Ethno Mobern Dance Contest at 1 PM and the ABC Night featuring The Voice Teens and Adult contests.
On Sunday, October 11, there will be a bicycle race dubbed "Padyakan Sa Lutayan" (1 PM) with participants coming from all over Mindanao and the Game 3 of the Basketball Championship.
The highlights of this year's Kanduli Festival will be held on Monday, October 12. These are the street dancing competition (6 AM) to be participated by at least five (5) contingents coming from different elementary schools in Lutayan and the Kanduli Showcasing (1 PM) to be held at Lutayan Public Market Open Court.
There will be also a medical mission to be conducted at the Municipal Health Office and the LGU Night at the Municipal Gym.

Kanduli Festival Kanduli Festival is a culture and Islamic faith based activity that also mean “thanksgiving” for every good deed a Muslim brother has done for his brethren.
