14 LGUs in SOX bags Seal of Good Local Governance award

One (1) province, two (2) cities and eleven (11) towns in SOX or SOCCSKSARGEN Region were awarded the 2016 Seal of Good Local Governance by the Department of Interior and Local Government during the National Conferment Ceremony held at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, in Pasay City last week.

The Seal of Good Local Governance is the highest award granted by the DILG to a local government unit. It is symbol of local government's integrity and good performance.

To get a Seal of Good Local Governance, an LGU needs to pass all the three core assessment areas—good financial housekeeping, social protection and disaster preparedness—and at least one of the essential areas involving business-friendliness and competitiveness, environmental management or peace and order.
