More tourists are visiting Region 12 which is being promoted as the 12th Paradise of the Philippines.
General Santos City tourist arrivals also increased reaching nearly 50,000 in just three months. Big events held in the city including seminars, conventions and the Kalilangan Festival last February contributed in the increase. The world-class GenSan Fish Port remains one of the popular destinations.
South Cotabato came third on the list of destinations in the region which tallied the most number of tourist arrivals. More than 42,000 visitors came to South Cotabato from the month of January to March. Favorite destinations in the province are the town of Lake Sebu and Lake Holon in T'boli.
Followed by Kidapawan City which was visited by more than 40,000 during the same period. Lake Agco and Mt. Apo using the Mandarangan trail remains the most visited in the city.
Meanwhile, Tacurong City where Baras Bird Sanctuary is located registered some 32,000 visitors, then followed by the City of Koronadal with more than16,000 visitors, Cotabato City with more than 14,000 and the province of Sultan Kudarat which posted more than 13,000 tourists.
According to reports by Department of Tourism -12 (DOT-12), more than 500,000 tourists came to SOCCSKSARGEN in the 1st Quarter of 2014. It has increased significantly compared to the same period last year .
Sarangani recorded the most tourist arrivals reaching 280,000.

Region 12 covers the cities of Cotabato, Tacurong, Kidapawan, Koronadal and Gen. Santos, and the provinces of North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Sarangani.
Among the popular destinations in Sarangani are the white water tubing in Pangi River in Maitum , the beaches of Gumasa in Glan , the Lamlifew Cultural Village in Malungon and the dive spots and paragliding adventures in Maasim.
